Article Processing Charges (APCs)
This journal operates under an Open Access model. Unlike traditional journals, we do not charge subscription fees or paywalls to readers. Instead, to make research freely available to the global veterinary and animal science community, the journal requires an Article Processing Charge (APC) once a manuscript is editorially accepted.
The APC covers the costs associated with peer-review administration, professional copyediting, XML/PDF typesetting, DOI assignment, plagiarism detection, and long-term digital archiving. There are no submission fees; charges only apply after formal acceptance.

Payment Methods
- Webpay Transbank: Authors can pay securely online using credit cards, debit cards, or prepaid cards through our official portal links provided upon manuscript acceptance.
- Bank Transfer (Wire Transfer): International or domestic bank transfers are accepted. Detailed banking coordinates and SWIFT/IBAN codes will be provided by the editorial office upon request.
Important Editorial Policies
1. Currency and Refund Policy: All payments must be processed in Chilean Pesos (CLP). Because APCs are only billed after a thorough peer-review process and formal editorial acceptance, payments are strictly non-refundable.
2. Verification of Discounts: Eligibility for both the Reviewer and COLMEVET discounts is strictly audited by the editorial office. Authors applying for the COLMEVET rate must provide their active Member ID, which will be cross-checked prior to moving the article into the production stage.
3. Non-cumulative discounts: If an author qualifies for multiple discounts, only the highest discount will apply.
Creative Commons & Content Reuse
By finalizing the APC payment, authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are distributed under a Creative Commons License, which allows the public to read, share, and reuse the content without restrictions, maximizing the visibility, citation tracking, and global impact of your research.
